On arrival at Kochi airport, you would be received at the airport and transferred to Munnar, the tea county of central Kerala and one of the highest points in southern India. Britishers planted tea in Munnar around 200 years back and today the whole of Munnar is surrounded by tea plantations.
On route to Munnar, visit the Cheeyappara waterfalls, the Valara Waterfalls and the tea plantations. On arrival check in at the resort of stay.
After breakfast, begin your day with a drive to Eravikulam National Park, a protected area famous for its rolling hills, scenic views, and as the natural habitat of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The park is also home to Anamudi, the highest peak in South India.
Later, visit Srishti, a socially inclusive initiative supported by the Tata Trusts, where differently-abled young adults create handmade paper, textiles, and other eco-friendly products. It’s a heartwarming stop that adds meaning to your Munnar visit.
In the afternoon, visit the Lockhart Tea Factory at Devikulam, one of the oldest functioning tea factories in the region. Here, you’ll witness the traditional orthodox method of tea production, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding plantations. Return to your resort by evening.
Depart from the misty hills of Munnar and drive through the scenic Western Ghats toward Thekkady, renowned for producing some of the world’s finest cardamom and pepper. Along the way, enjoy views of tea gardens, dense forests, and spice plantations that make this route feel like a journey through the heart of Kerala’s green belt.
En route, stop for a guided tour of a local spice garden, where you’ll learn about Kerala’s famed spices and their cultivation. In the afternoon, join a Green Walk, a guided nature walk through the forest buffer zone led by tribal guides, offering a chance to spot wildlife as well as the rich flora of these forest tracts. Return to your hotel for overnight stay in Thekkady.
After breakfast, check out from the resort in Thekkady and drive to the backwaters of Alleppey. On arrival board a Keralan Houseboat. A huge barge on top of which a house model is built.
Cruise along the backwaters, the narrow canals where one could experience the local backwater life. All meals would be served on board from Lunch to next day's breakfast. The houseboat would be an exclusive houseboat with the air conditioning on during sleeping hours.
After breakfast check out from the houseboat and drive to Kochi for a sightseeing tour of Kochi where you would visit the backwaters of Kochi, the Jew Town, Mattancherry and Fort Kochi. This is mostly the old part of Kochi where the colonial powers had settled.
There is a new city that emerged after independence which is known as Ernakulam city, in case if you are interested in some shopping you can visit the M G Road known for textiles, jewellery. After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed for a departure transfer to Kochi airport to board an afternoon / evening flight.
